Parallel event 2022

The World Maritime Day Parallel Event (WMDPE) was postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The 2022 WMDPE was eventually held in Durban, South Africa, from 12 to 14 October 2022.

With "New technologies for greener shipping" being the year's World Maritime Theme, the event provided an excellent opportunity for the international maritime community to highlight the importance of inclusive collaboration geared at innovative solutions to address mitigation strategies to reduce the maritime transport carbon footprint. The event also provided participants with the unique opportunity to experience the rich culture and exceptional hospitality of South Africa.

Further information about the event can be found at www.worldmaritimedaysouthafrica.gov.za
