The Maritime Knowledge Centre does not respond to technical enquiries. Technical enquiries should be directed to the relevant national maritime Administration or to the flag Administration (National Contacts) which are the appropriate channels for dissemination of IMO technical information. Implementation of IMO instruments is also the responsibility of national Administrations.

The Maritime Knowledge Centre (MKC) is open to external visitors Monday-Friday 10 am - 5 pm, by appointment only. Access may be restricted during IMO Secretariat meetings or other events.
Scheduling an Appointment
Appointments are required to visit the MKC. To make an appointment, send an
email with the date and time you would like to visit and details of your research. We require a minimum notice of one week. Do not make any travel arrangements until your appointment has been confirmed by an email from us.
Access to the IMO Secretariat
Security formalities are in place to enter the IMO Secretariat. Please be prepared by a having valid identification document with you, such as a passport, identity card or driving license. Students and researchers should provide a valid student card or a letter of recommendation from their university or institute.
