Passenger information required on all passenger ships from 1 January 1999

| From 1 January 1999, details of passengers on board ships, including name and gender and whether adult child or infant, must be recorded for search and rescue purposes. Also on January 1, 1999, amendments to the revised International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and Code, concerning training for personnel on passenger ships, enter into force. |
