Yugoslavia joins IMO

The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has become a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), following its deposit, on 11 December 2000, of an instrument of acceptance of the Convention on the International Maritime Organization, as amended, with the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The country’s membership of IMO follows the adoption of resolution 55/12 by the United Nations General Assembly under which the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was admitted to membership of the United Nations.

With the accession of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the number of IMO Member States remains at 158.
