Montenegro becomes Member of IMO
The IMO Council, meeting for its 97th session in London, welcomed the IMO's
167th Member State, Montenegro, which deposited its instrument of acceptance
of the Convention on the International Maritime Organization, as amended, with
the Secretary-General of the United Nations on 10 October 2006.
With the accession of Montenegro, the number of IMO Member States stands at
167, with three Associate Members1.
