Maritime Piracy: social, economic and legal issues (IMO in collaboration with MPHRP)

​This conference aimed at raising the national awareness on the need of a humanitarian response prgramme to help seafarers affected by pirate attacks and hijacking incidents. It addressed all national stakeholders including government, shipmanagement companies, P&I Club, academia (represented by the Odessa Law Academy and Odessa Maritime Academy) and others. It also envisaged to promote the use of Best Management Practices (BMP) among shipping companies, masters and crew members transiting piracy-infested areas. 
The event was planned, organized and moderated by the Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme (MPHRP) in close cooperation with the Odessa Law Academy.
